Grasslands catches fire in Eravikulam National Park
Firemap
MUNNAR, March 2:
Large areas of grasslands caught fire in Eravikulam National Park during February 2009. Fires occurred at Kattumala and also at Kulakkankad mala which fall partly in the Munnar range during the first fortnight of February.

The Park had been kept free for fires for the last four years on account of constant vigil by forest officials and watchers. However, they slipped last month.
